Principled commitments to…
BLACC is a collective of Black Macmillan Learning employees driven by the following principled commitments to:
Our selves.
We provide community and safe spaces for Black employees to restore themselves and empower them for the shared work that we do to change lives through learning.
We encourage, support and celebrate Black people showing up professionally as their full selves.
We recognize and celebrate the intersectionality of our members.
We believe that empowerment and equality of Black people requires that we acknowledge our own intragroup privileges and harness them to support, advocate and celebrate points of intersectionality to which we may not all individually belong.
Our organization.
We believe that meaningful representation and inclusion of Black people is essential to the work that Macmillan Learning does to deliver and support our products and services.
We seek and create opportunities to improve the representation, access, awareness and celebration of Black people in the publishing and educational technology communities.
We ally and support the work and recognition of other underrepresented communities within Macmillan Learning.
Our world.
We work to create meaningful, measurable change on issues that impact people in underserved communities throughout the Diaspora.
